Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (ready to roll)
  • 1 cup Dark or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1-2 tbsp of Icing sugar/powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Fan oven to 160C/330F (for conventional oven, 180C/356F) and line a large baking sheet with baking paper.
  2. Gently unroll the puff pastry sheet.
  3. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half vertically then slice each half into five equal rectangles. You’ll end up with 10 rectangles.
  4. Place some chocolate chips in the centre of each rectangle. Fold one short side over the chips, press gently, then fold the other side on top and seal with a gentle press. Lightly moisten the seam with a wet finger to better seal the pastry and prevent it from unfolding while baking.
  5. Place the pastries seam-side down on the baking sheet to keep them sealed while baking.
  6. Brush the top of each pastry with an egg wash (whisk an egg using a fork).
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until flakey and golden brown in colour.
  8. Let them cool slightly, then dust the top of each croissant with icing sugar.
  9. Melt some chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle on these croissants. Enjoy!
